What another great night organised to raise money for Jack's Appeal. The night kicked off at about 7:30 with BDB Entertainments providing the halloween themed tunes. There were some great costumes worn by all on the night, I especially liked the red devil. I just wish I had made more of an effort and dressed up too - I did go as an old witch (didn't have to try too hard!).

It was now time for the live bands to go on stage the first up were Rif Raf, or is it the Addams Family? Shelagh - Uncle Fester, Mum - Morticia and Dad - Gomez. And that brings us to their opening song - The Addams Family! Always a good song to get the audience going. It didn't take long before the dancers were up to some of Rif Raf's favourites Love Potion Number Nine, Spirit in the Sky and Bad Moon Rising (can you spot the connection?). After a brilliant first set from Rif Raf it was time for The Spidermen to take to the stage with songs such as Travelling Light, Matchbox and Just Seventeen. My Dad and Val got up for a jive to Matchbox by jove he can still move! I did attempt to jive with him later on but I had two left feet (or was it the vodka?).


During the interval it was time for the raffle and for Shelagh to raise money with her fantastic idea of 'Adopt a Bat'. Both of which raised over £200! There were plenty of raffle prizes on the night donated by the following: Doris, Joan, Audrey, Muriel, Jane, Carol from Rainford Farm Shop, Carol from TWS Farm, Shelagh and Joan. There were also a number of cash donations made, in particular Denis on behalf of MerseyRats, who presented a cheque for £250.

The night went on with second performances from both Rif Raf and The Spidermen, by this time the audience were well into the swing of it with lots of witches and ghouls strutting their stuff on the dancefloor. The finale saw both bands on the stage for a fantastic rendition on Johnny B Goode.

A great night was had by all and a grand total of £751 was raised for Jack's Appeal.
